FIFA 12 Demo Fans React – Xbox, PS3 & PC: Still Waiting?

Gaming news is coming thick and fast as today we have already announced the official release date for the Sony PS Vita and yesterday we told how the FIFA 12 demo was now live for Xbox and PC with the PS3 demo becoming available today. We’ve been looking at some first thoughts for those lucky enough to have played the game and so far it’s looking pretty positive.

One of the new features that many are most looking forward to is the new Player Impact Engine and a first look at this was extremely promising with bone-crunching physical interaction. Strategy is now also incorporated into defensive play with Tactical Defending, which looks set to be another clever addition to the FIFA game. Precision Dribbling is another innovative move from EA Sports.

The demo going live wasn’t without problems though. Many Xbox users were unable to download the demo and were left disappointed because the Live system went down. Eric Neustadter, Director of Architecture for Xbox Live Operations, said via Twitter, “Xbox.com is having issues at the moment. It’s being worked on – sorry for the hassle folks,” according to Jimmy Nsubuga over on Metro.

Those who managed to play the demo so far though, seem to have been highly impressed. For example, jojohenry23 tweeted, “Played FIFA 12 demo. It is really good.” ChrisReezy7 wittily tweeted and made me chuckle with, “Something seems to be wrong with my FIFA12 demo. I can hear the Arsenal fans.” Joshmeatsix summed up his enthusiasm with a pretty resounding, “I’ve never been so excited in my life.”

Certainly the majority of reaction seems to be positive although there are also some criticisms. Botsyyyy for instance tweeted, “After spending most of my night playing it, I’m slightly disappointed with the FIFA12 demo.” Another FIFA demo user, Mufc_Matt said, “Only complaint is arena too similar, menu noises still annoying, and Alan Smith pissed me off before I even started.” Making yourself clear Matt!

If you’re still waiting for the PS3 FIFA 12 demo then we’re hearing that 5pm UK time today is a likely time for availability to download. The game itself will be released on September 30 for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.

We’re really interested to hear your thoughts on the FIFA 12 demo download. Have you managed to play it yet and what are your first impressions? After the long wait are you mainly satisfied or disappointed? If you’re a PS3 owner are you left feeling frustrated right now. Let us know with your comments.
