2012 Super Bowl – Best Apps Pick

The Super Bowl 2012 is almost upon us and we’ve already given you details of the date and time worldwide for the New York Giants vs. New England Patriots on Sunday February 5. Now we want to give you some details of some of the very best apps available for Super Bowl XLVI.

If you want all the pre-news and buildup to the big game then there are plenty of apps available that you might enjoy. The two obvious ones for starters are the official New York Giants mobile app, which is free, as is the New England Patriots mobile app. Both will give you real-time news, photo galleries, video clips and more.

With the ESPN ScoreCenter app, if you can’t be glued in front of the TV the scores here are updated the instant they happen so you can keep up with all the action. Although we previously gave details of some of the best Twitter feeds to follow for the Super Bowl this year, another app that could be useful is NFL Pro Tweets, which gathers together tweets from NFL players and also sports media comments on their own tabs. You need to be over 17 for this app and require a Twitter account to log in. As comments are unedited this may not be suitable for younger fans.

Of course we must not forget the official NFL App for Super Bowl 2012, SB XLVI Guide. This details special events, where to find parking if you’re lucky enough to be headed to the game and info from fans, players and insiders as well as a 3D map of Indianapolis and interactive close-up of the stadium. We also know that many people enjoy the Super Bowl commercials (some almost as much as the game itself!) and this is where the SuperAds: Super Bowl Commercials app comes in, showing some classic ads as well as teasers of new ads for this year priced at $1.99.

If the action is making you feel like testing your Super Bowl knowledge then you could try out the Super Bowl – Know it All app or how about the Chevy Game Time app to win prizes including tires, pizzas, and NFL Store gift cards.

Hopefully there are enough apps here to keep you entertained in the countdown to Sunday’s game so check them out and let us know what you think? Also if you know of any other good apps to recommend for the Super Bowl then pass them on to us with your comments.
