The 18th Screen Actors Guild Awards took place last night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and one of the big hits of the night was ‘The Help’ scooping three awards. ‘The Help’ has also received several Oscar nominations so maybe this is an auspicious sign! We have news from the event and a list of the major winners as well as details of the SAG Awards 2012 full winners list.

One of the big moments of the evening was when the Lifetime Achievement award was given to Mary Tyler Moore. This was a popular choice as Mary Tyler Moore has given viewers many years of entertainment in shows such as ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ and ‘The Dick Van Dyke Show’ along with movies such as ‘Ordinary People. In a nice tribute the award was presented to her by Dick Van Dyke, her one-time screen husband. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Mary Tyler Moore’s most recent screen role was in sitcom ‘Hot in Cleveland’ alongside Betty White.
