People’s Choice Awards Notables: Major winners & full list 2012

Last night it was time for the 38th People’s Choice Awards honoring stars from the world of music, TV and film. The ceremony took place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles hosted by Kaley Cuoco and as usual it was a glittering affair. We have details of some of the major wins and also information for the full winner’s list from the People’s Choice Awards 2012.

It was a huge night for singer Katy Perry, although she was not in attendance and tweeted to fans earlier in the week that she wouldn’t be there. Despite her absence at the annual bash she won 5 of the awards making her the biggest winner of the evening. Another big winner was for the movie ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,’ the last in the Harry Potter series, which took 4 awards. For acting performances Emma Stone and Johnny Depp each won two awards.

Here are some of the major category winners plus highlighted others –

Favorite Female Artist – Katy Perry (other categories won by her were favorite tour headliner, favorite song of the year for ‘E.T.’ featuring Kanye West, favorite music video for ‘Last Friday Night’ and favorite TV guest star for ‘How I Met Your Mother’)

Favorite Male Artist – Bruno Mars

Favorite Album of the Year – Lady Gaga for ‘Born This Way’

Favorite Movie – ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2’ (other categories won by this film were favorite action movie, favorite ensemble movie cast and favorite book adaptation)

Favorite Movie Actor – Johnny Depp (also won favorite animated movie voice for ‘Rango’)

Favorite Movie Actress – Emma Stone (also won favorite comedic comedy actress)

Favorite Movie Icon – Morgan Freeman

Favorite TV Competition Show – American Idol

Favorite Network TV Drama – Supernatural
