Galaxy S II Frost White Epic 4G Touch: Sprint 8th Jan Release
Good news today for those who’ve been patiently waiting for the Epic 4G Touch in white on Sprint. The white Epic 4G Touch should be a big success for the carrier as white devices often seem to be in vogue and the good news is that there’s only a few days to wait.
Just in case you need a reminder the Epic 4G Touch is Sprint’s variant of the smash hit Samsung Galaxy S II which we included in our best pick of holiday smartphones. The Sprint version includes WiMax 4G connectivity and will be released on January 8, according to Engadget. The price is the same as the black model at $199 on the usual two-year contract.
I must say from the images available, the Frost White Epic 4G Touch certainly looks sleek and stylish and could tempt many, although there is already talk of the Galaxy S III coming this year. There’s a good chance the S III may be revealed at CES next week and a release could come as early as the second quarter of 2012. However, considering how much longer the US had to wait for the Galaxy S II compared to other regions, it could still be some wait stateside. Of course, a plethora of new smartphones will be unveiled at 2012 CES but bare in mind that many won’t be releasing until some months later.
Some specs and features for the Epic 4G Touch on Sprint include a 1.2GHz processor, 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen, Android 2.3 OS, 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front-facer with 1080p HD video capture. All-in-all then the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch in white looks like a tempting proposition. Could you be tempted to this handset in white? Let us know with your comments.
