News of UFC 141 Post-Fight Press Conference, With Full Video

Last night was a heady night of action at UFC 141, held on a Friday night instead of the customary Saturday because of New Year’s Eve. If the main event was less than satisfying, Diaz vs. Cerrone certainly had the thrills and spills we were waiting for. We have news for you of the post-fight press conference plus a video to view below this story.

The main event of UFC 141 was Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem and we’ve already told how that was all done and dusted in the first round, leading to Lesnar sadly announcing his retirement from UFC. We’ve already given readers the full results of all main event and prelims from UFC 141 with a fight video so check that out at the link for more details. On to the post-fight press conference though, as usual presided over by UFC president Dana White. Six fighters appeared and they were Alistair Overeem, Nate Diaz, Donald Cerrone, Ross Pearson, Jonny Hendricks and Jimy Hettes.

Nobody was surprised to see Fight of the Night awarded to Nate Diaz vs. Donald Cerrone. This three-round thriller wowed the crowds as the two lightweights slugged it out. It ended with Diaz taking the victory with a unanimous decision 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 and is a fight that many will remember for a long time, gaining both men a lot of respect. Johny Hendricks was handed the KO of the Night for after his 12-second defeat of Jon Fitch and if you’re wondering who gained Submission of the Night, this one was not given last night as nobody submitted. All the fighters receiving bonuses were given $75,000 each.

Dana White also announced how there were 12,158 spectators at UFC 141 and the total gate was $3.1 million. You can see what many of the UFC 141 fighters had to say about last night’s event at the full 48-minute post-fight press conference video below this story, courtesy of YouTube. positively blew me away that Diaz was able to overwhelm Cerrone. I knew that Diaz has ridiculous reach, which he used perfectly throughout the fight, but I thought Cerrone would stop the standup and shoot – but never did.

Amazing outcome to what I thought was going to be exactly the opposite.
