Last night’s UFC 140 was one of the best we can remember and was a great example of what’s best about UFC. Earlier we gave you full UFC 140 results and fight video highlights but now we wanted to give you some news from the post-fight press conference. You can also see the full 35-minute video of the post-fight press conference below this story.

UFC 140 took place in Toronto, Canada and drew a crowd of 18,303 with a gate of $3.9 million. We told how the Jones vs. Machida fight was a real thriller and so you won’t be surprised to learn that this was awarded the ‘Fight of the Night’ by UFC president Dana White. He also pointed out that Jones was the first light heavyweight to defend his title since Chuck Liddell and referred to Jones as “the real deal.”

Other bonuses awarded were Submission of the Night to Frank Mir, which White dubbed ‘Submission of the Century.’ Mir defeated Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira via submission (kimura) in Round 1. The Korean Zombie aka Chan Sung Jung won KO of the Night. Jung tied the official UFC record for fastest knockout when he defeated Mark Hominick in only 7 seconds. All bonuses for these fighters were for $75,000 each. A UFC 125-pound flyweight division was also announced by Dana White and will start with the March 3 event.

During the UFC 140 post-fight press conference, Jon Jones said of Lyoto Machida that he was an amazing person and had his utmost respect. Jones added that his “confidence really started to sky-rocket” after he opened up a cut on Machida during the second round. Frank Mir spoke about the gruesome moment when he snapped Nogueira’s shoulder and said he had a feeling when he locked that Nogueira wouldn’t tap, so “took a deep breath and you guys saw what happened.”
