Next James Bond Movie is Skyfall: US & UK Release Dates
Film fans are going to love the latest news that the title of the next James Bond movie has been revealed as “Skyfall.” The 23rd Bond movie will star Daniel Craig in his third James Bond appearance and today we also have news of release dates for you for both the U.S. and the U.K.
French actress Berenice Marlohe will be 007’s leading lady, along with Britain’s Naomie Harris and the movie will be directed by Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes. A short premise of Skyfall reveals that Bond’s loyalty will be tested and MI6 the espionage HQ will be under attack with Bond making appearances in Turkey, Scotland, China and London. Judi Dench will also return as M and other leading players will be Javier Barden as the villain, Ralph Fiennes and Albert Finney.
There have been many rumors that the traditional ‘action scenes’ would play less part in the next Bond movie, or even abandoned altogether but Mendes assured Bond fans, telling reporters that Skyfall will have “all the elements of a classic Bond movie, including – to quell any rumours – lots of action,” according to Tim Masters on BBC News. Mendes also talked about the “fantastic script” and said the new Bond movie would have lots of surprises. Meanwhile Daniel Craig told how filming would begin on Thursday.
For those that follow the theme music of Bond movies there has been no decision made yet about who will write or perform the next theme, according to producer Barbara Broccoli. The UK release is set for October 26, 2012 while in the US the release date will be November 9, 2012, according to a Reuters report. That signifies a four-year gap since the last Bond outing in 2008, Quantum of Solace. It also means that Skyfall will be released in the 50th anniversary year of the James Bond movies.
We’d like to hear your thoughts on the next movie in the Bond series. Are you happy that Daniel Craig is to star as James Bond again? Who for you was the best Bond? Let us know with your comments.
