HTC Rezound Specs, Price, Release Date Confirmed: Verizon 4G LTE
We’ve been bringing readers all the news about the HTC Rezound coming to Verizon from when it was still being dubbed the HTC Vigor. This new Android handset has been widely seen as some competition against another much awaited handset, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Today at last, the HTC Rezound has been officially announced and we have news on confirmed specs, price and release date.
In previous news about the HTC Rezound we’ve told of a rumored release date and then we also included it in our article about Verizon fall smartphones being hard to beat. Many of you will now be pleased to learn that the release date is now confirmed as November 14 so there’s not too much longer until you can get your hands on this notable phone. The price is $299 on the usual two-year contract, which is pretty much what we expected too, as it seems to be the standard cost of Verizon 4G LTE handsets now. The upcoming Motorola Droid RAZR for example has already been confirmed at the same price and the Galaxy Nexus is also rumored to be at the $299 mark.
Although many of the upcoming LTE smartphones, including AT&T’s Galaxy S II Skyrocket have impressive specs, one of the things that sets the HTC Rezound apart, is its Beats Audio technology integration that will provide outstanding audio capabilities. It’s the first US handset featuring this and this is something that appealed to many when rumored specs and features were first released. Other specs now confirmed are a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch HD 720p touchscreen with 1280 x 720 resolution and 1GB of RAM, as reported by Todd Haselton over on BGR. Although the Rezound is not being launched on the upcoming new Android OS, 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the Galaxy Nexus is, it will be released running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. However an update to ICS has been confirmed by the Big Red for early 2012. There’s also that 4G LTE connectivity of course.
Camera-wise the HTC Rezound has an 8-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and enhanced low-light performance along with 1080p HD video capture. Other features for the HTC Rezound include 16GB of internal memory, Bluetooth 3.0 support and GPS/AGPS and there’s also a 1,620 mAh battery.
