Verizon Fall Smartphones Hard to Beat: Galaxy Nexus, Droid RAZR & more

We’ve been bringing you all the news as usual about the latest smartphones that will soon be gracing the shelves. After the resounding success of the iPhone 4S we’ve also told about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the HTC Rezound and the Motorola Droid RAZR. So what do all these phones have in common? They are all in the Verizon lineup for this fall and this will make Verizon hard to beat.

It doesn’t seem long ago that the Motorola Droid Bionic and Samsung Galaxy S II were the smartphones that everybody was talking about, but in recent weeks the other handsets above have definitely taken over. Although the iPhone 4S has already been released, the Galaxy Nexus, Rezound and the Droid RAZR will be arriving very soon, in fact there have been rumors on release dates for all three and November 10 could in fact be the date when all could be launched at the same time, although release dates have not yet been confirmed for the U.S. However all are certainly expected to be released in November.

It does seem pretty amazing then, that all of the smartphones creating a real buzz at the moment are, or will be, carried by Verizon although of course the iPhone 4S is available on other carriers too. The Galaxy Nexus was initially announced as an exclusive for Verizon but the “exclusive” has now been removed from the Verizon website, according to Mark Spoonauer over on Laptop, so it could also come to other carriers as we reported previously. We’ve previously given you plenty of information on the iPhone 4S, the Galaxy Nexus, the Rezound and the Droid RAZR and all of these handsets have a lot to offer.

The iPhone 4S for example, may be available on other carriers but as Laptop points out, it had the best voice quality on Verizon in a shootout of the iPhone 4S on all current carriers. Of course if you’re not an Android fan then the iPhone 4S is more likely to be your smartphone of choice, in which case many of you will already have purchased it. Most of the current hype seems to surround the Galaxy Nexus as this will be the first device to run on the next Android OS, 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and if you’re a fan of large displays the 4.65-inches of the Galaxy Nexus will probably draw you to it.

The Droid RAZR though is a very respectable match, especially now it’s been announced that it will get the Ice Cream Sandwich update in early 2012, and this is a beautifully slimline phone and will have an Super AMOLED advanced screen. Then we have the HTC Rezound, which will feature Beats Audio and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Add to all this the fact that the Galaxy Nexus, Droid RAZR and Rezound will all have 4G LTE connectivity for the Verizon LTE network and it’s difficult to imagine any other carrier coming up with a lineup to come anywhere near the Big Red’s this fall.

We’d like to hear your thoughts on the Verizon fall lineup. Have you already purchased the iPhone 4S on Verizon? Maybe you’re still trying to decide between the upcoming Galaxy Nexus, Droid RAZR and Rezound, also on the Big Red? Let us know with your comments.

I only want the Nexus as it is pure Android, no bloatware, blur, sense, etc. I also want a screen larger than 4.3″ so that counts out the Razr and the Rezound. The Nexus doesn’t have the best specs but I do plan on increasing the clock speed on the processor to 1.5 ghz as I know the TI OMAP 4460 can handle it and can live with the rest of the shortcomings for now.
