Official & Out – “The Avengers” Trailer: Watch YouTube Video Now
One of the most widely anticipated movies of the year is “The Avengers” and at last fans can get a look at what is to come, with the official trailer released today. The trailer debuted online but you can now see the 2-minute video from YouTube below this story. This superhero blockbuster is set to be a smash hit and at least you can now have a taster while you wait for its release.
You still have a some time to go though as the movie won’t debut in theaters until May 4, 2012, according to Josh Wigler on MTV Music. The two-minute trailer from the Marvel Studios promises, action, fight scenes and looks set to be explosive stuff. “The Avengers” is directed by Joss Whedon and features popular Marvel heroes such as Captain America played by Chris Evans, Thor /Chris Hemsworth, Iron Man /Robert Downey Jr., Bruce Banner /Mark Ruffalo, Black Widow /Scarlett Johansson and others, as reported by Noelene Clark of the Los Angeles Times.
The sheer epic scale of this project comes across well in the video beginning with arch-rival Loki in a threatening monologue and whispering, “You were made to be ruled, and in the end it will be every man for himself.” Cue a cut to S.H.I.E.L.D director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), saying “There was an idea, to bring together a group of remarkable people, so that when we needed them, they could fight the battles that we never could,” and what a group! The trailer is pretty exciting stuff and despite the fact that the heroes will fight together and against each other (well what do you expect, they are superheroes!), it leaves Tony Stark saying, “If we can’t protect the Earth, you can be damned sure that we’ll avenge it.”
At Comic-Con, director Whedon had a lot of praise for the cast of “The Avengers,” saying, “they mesh really well.” He went on, “These actors have a great time playing against each other, and they are, as a troupe, actually a much better team than the Avengers are.”
One thing for sure is that “The Avengers” looks set to thrill and is sure to be a box-office hit. Take a look at the video below and let us know what you think. Will you be waiting avidly until next May for when can see the full-length movie? Let us know with your comments.
