Kraft Foods Recall 2011 – Velveeta Products: Details & Numbers
Hot on the heels of a ground beef recall and then a cantaloupe melon listeria outbreak, we have news today of another food recall, this time concerning Kraft Foods. Because of the possibility of wire bristle pieces contaminating the products, three different Velveeta Shells & Cheese single-serve microwaveable cups are involved in the recall.
A vast number of these Velveeta products are affected by the recall as 137,000 cases have been shipped across the U.S., although Kraft states that it has received no complaints and no reports of injuries so far. The full product list and numbers are below – courtesy of PR Newswire.

Velveeta Rotini & Cheese Broccoli microwaveable cups – size 2.44 oz – best-when-used-by dates of April 29, 2012 to May 14, 2012 – UPC 2100002318
Kraft advises customers that they can find the best-when-used-by date on the bottom of the packaging. Products outside of the dates above or any other Kraft products are not affected by the recall. If you are a customer who has a product affected by the recall do not eat them but return them to the store of purchase, either for a full refund or an exchange. Over on Bloomberg Businessweek an Associated Press reports tells how Kraft is still moving ahead with plans to divide into two separate publicly traded companies.
