COD Black Ops: Reviews on Zombie mode

Since Call of Duty: Black Ops was released at midnight we’ve been keeping you informed of all the latest developments as gamers get to grips with the smash-hit they’ve been eagerly waiting for, available for PC, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. We’ve already given articles on how to unlock secrets and also 6 essential weapons and we also gave you a review roundup of some of the first reviews available.
Now though it’s time to turn our attention specifically to the Zombie mode in Black Ops and we wanted to look specifically at what the reviews had to say about the Zombie mode as we know how many of our readers are huge fans of this part of the game. First up, the Telegraph review by Nick Cowen gave the game a score of 10/10 overall but how did he rate the Zombie mode?
Cowen says up to 4 players can play in the online battles and take on the roles of John F. Kennedy, Fidel Castro, Robert McNamara and Richard Nixon. He calls the mode “entertaining” and tells of players dashing madly around fending off those zombies, and overall describes the zombie mode as “silly infectious fun.”
Mike Schramm over on Joystiq gave the overall game 4/5 and goes into quite some detail on the zombie mode. He felt though that it was “surprisingly limited” although he does say that the extra zombie mode that’s unlocked when you beat the campaign is “hilarious.”He talks of some of the additions but felt that the zombie mode was “unfinished” as though the developers had too much money to throw at the game with no clear focus and also said it didn’t merit a place on the main menu. In conclusion he feels the zombie mode could have been much better rather than “just something to fill the kitchen sink.”
Martin Gaston on VideoGamer who scored it 9/10 overall also goes specifically into the zombie mode calling it “a surprisingly enjoyable romp” but says that although it’s entertaining for a while it’s only a temporary diversion. It seems then that as we described earlier the overall reviews for the game are extremely positive, but taking a look at what the reviews said about the zombie mode throws up more of a mixed reaction.
We’d love to know what you think about the Zombies mode on Call of Duty: Black Ops. If you’ve had a chance to play the zombie mode yet are you happy with it, or maybe you’re disappointed? Why not send us your comments to let us know.
