Verizon iPhone release date: Is it the ‘iconic device’ coming on Nov 9?
We’ve been bringing you stories about a Verizon iPhone for as long as we can remember, at least it seems that way. However lately the rumors have become more persistent than before and seem to be from more reliable sources such as the Wall Street Journal and Fortune. Just recently we spoke of a prototype that had apparently been spotted for a CDMA iPhone, and then heard that many hundreds of new jobs were being snapped up at call centers for a new line for a major wireless company.
This all seemed to fit well with the well known rumors now of a January release for the iPhone. Only this Monday we had more news that Fortune had apparently received confirmation of an early release in 2011 for the iPhone which made us feel that it was now looking inevitable. However, another intriguing snippet has come out today about a memo that talks of an “iconic device” being released on Verizon on November 9, according to Jeff Gamet over on the Mac Observer, sourced from TUAW.
We know this will get a lot of you very excited as we’ve had huge responses to our previous Verizon iPhone articles and realize just how many of you are waiting for it. However before you get too excited there’s no official confirmation of this from Apple and Mac Observer also reports that the Motorola Droid Pro is also being released on November 9, according to Android Police, and that has already been described as an “iconic device.”
We wouldn’t want to get your hopes up but want to keep you up-to-date with all the speculation and November 9 is only 5 days ago, so not long to wait to find out what this all means. Are you eagerly anticipating an announcement about a Verizon iPhone, or maybe like us you won’t believe it until you see it? We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on this so feel free to send us your comments.
