Dell Venue Pro Windows Phone 7 handset: Specs and release on T-Mobile
Earlier today we speculated about all the news from the Microsoft event to launch Windows Phone 7 and wondered what new handsets may be revealed. After the event we posted an article rounding up the 10 new handsets soon to be available and said we’d be taking a more in-depth look at each one. We’ve already given you specs and details for the HTC HD7 smartphone and also the HTC Surround and now we’re about to take a look at the Dell Venue Pro.
Microsoft has shown with the onslaught of new hardware featuring Windows Phone 7 today, that it really means business and the Dell Venue Pro, which has sometimes previously been referred to as Lightning, looks very promising indeed. It will be exclusively available initially in the U.S. on T-Mobile and as for a release date at the moment we’re just told it will be in time for the holidays. Bear in mind though that many of the other sets launched today are coming to the U.S. by mid-November.
According to Vlad Savov over on Engadget, sourced from Dell, the Dell Venue Pro has a 4.1-inch WVGA AMOLED capacitive multi-touch display with full- QWERTY slider, a Qualcomm 1 GHZ Snapdragon processor and 5-megapixel camera. Highlights of the new Operating System on the Dell Venue Pro are the Games Hub, People Hub, Pictures Hub, Music + Video and more.
There’s little else available on the actual specs, pricing or release date as yet but we’ll try to bring you information when we hear it. For more on this go to engadget.com. What are you initial thoughts on the Dell Venue Pro? Why did they change the name from the far more catchy Lightning? We’re interested in what you have to say so feel free to send in those comments.
