There’s some interesting news for those people, and we know there are many, who are still hanging on waiting for a Verizon iPhone. There has been so much speculation for so long now surrounding a Verizon iPhone 4 that we almost lose track but the general consensus among tech sites for some time has been a possible release in January, which would mean an end to Apple’s current exclusivity deal with AT&T.

We recently wrote about the lack of a Verizon iPhone or White iPhone 4 announcement from the recent Apple media Event and also asked as Apple’s iOS is now losing ground to Android, whether Apple should be getting out that Verizon iPhone. Now a report from Emma Woollacott over on TG Daily looks into a report from Credit Suisse about what would happen to AT&T once its exclusivity ends and a Verizon iPhone is launched which the article says they believe would be on February 15.

The Credit Suisse survey shows that almost a quarter, 1.4 million, of current AT&T iPhone users would change their carrier to Verizon if this happened. While many would wait until their contracts ran out 3% said they would switch immediately even if it meant breaking their contracts. Credit Suisse therefore report that new Verizon users could maybe double and that the giant carrier could gain 4 million new users next year.

However it’s not all bad news for AT&T as Credit Suisse has still raised the company’s rating from ‘neutral’ to ‘outperform’. For more on this go to tgdaily.com.
