Since the launch of the Apple iPad in April demand has been so great that Apple just has not been able to keep up with supplies of the iconic tablet device, but production problems have obviously been almost solved as it seems that the time from online order to shipping has been reduced to only one day.

Only a while ago, if consumers wanted the hugely-hyped device, they had to wait for between 7 and 10 days until the iPad could be supplied to them and in the last few weeks this had been improved to between 3 and 5 days. Now a report on AppleInsider says that orders for all versions of both the Wi-Fi and 3G-capable iPad from the Apple Store, can now be shipped within the day.

Maybe Apple pumped up production to be ready for the speculated 7-inch iPad rumored to be due later this year or in early 2011, or the other way of looking at it is maybe demand has slowed, enabling the catch up. With a slew of other tablet devices due in the next few months perhaps Apple wanted to be ready for the competition.

Just some of the upcoming tablets we’ve spoken of recently include the Samsung Galaxy Tab running on Android 2.2, rumored to be out before Christmas, the HP Web OS tablet, due in early 2011 and the Google Chrome OS tablet from HTC due out on Black Friday on Verizon. With this myriad of competition coming Apple will be pleased to have finally caught up with the iPad demand which has sold in multi-millions, selling 3.27 million units in its first three months of sale alone.
