Apple: Loses Executive In Light Of Antenna Problems
Apple’s executive “Mark Papermaster” who has been with the company since 2008 has left during the height of their iPhone 4 antenna problems and delayed release of the white version of the iPhone 4. Although Apple have enjoyed the success in sales of the iPhone 4, equally it has come at a price! At the present time, it is still not apparent whether Papermaster was made to leave or left on his own accord.
According to Miguel Helft at The New York Times, the executive has yet to comment on his recent activity. One thing that we do know, is senior vice present of Macintosh hardware engineering “Bob Mansfield” will be looking after all affairs during this time.
Over the time spent with Apple, Papermaster has endured his own bad press in relation to I.B.M. suing him over proposals which were put forward that he was holding some trade secrets and not complied to an agreement.
In light of the problems that Apple are now having to deal with in relation to the reception antenna issues, in which, if you are not aware, is loss of signal with the way in which the iPhone 4 is held, this was not the best time for Papermaster to leave. We have seen Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple attending a press conference on July 16 in which he said that other smartphones had experienced the same antenna problems and in an effort to put the problem behind the company, Jobs offered free bumpers to users. At one of the most important times for Apple, Papermaster, to the surprise of some observers was not present at this conference.
