Apple iPhone 4 bumper case: Refunds start to roll

You will all no doubt have heard by now of the Apple Press Conference almost a week ago where Steve Jobs turned up to talk about the issues over the iPhone 4’s reception problems. The outcome eventually was that Apple offered free bumper cases, which apparently solve the problem, with refunds being issued to customers who had already purchased one.

There was some controversy about the conference with many feeling that the issue was rather brushed aside by Steve Jobs but JP Morgan went on to describe Apple’s response as positive, although the offer of bumper cases is only available until September 30. Now we’ve heard that refunds for Apple iPhone 4 bumper cases have actually begun.

An article by Paul McDougall over on Information Week, said that some online customers received a note today from Apple which read “As of today, we have automatically processed your refund. You have also been refunded for any Shipping or VAT charges that may have been applied to your order.” The next round of refunds is likely to be for those that purchased in store.

It’s still unclear about how refunds will work for people who purchased bumper cases through third-party vendors. For more on this go to Information Week. Are you one of the lucky first people who have already received your refund? We’d be interested to hear your experiences regarding refunds for iPhone 4 bumper cases so why not let us know with a comment.
