Glenn Beck: Fighting Macular Dystrophy

Glenn Beck: Fighting Macular Dystrophy

It has been learned today, that the popular tv and radio host, author and entrepreneur `Glenn Beck’, has been diagnosed with Macular Dystrophy. During his “American Revival” tour on Saturday in Salt Lake City, which pulled in a crowd of 6,000 people, he emotionally told his audience that his diagnosis had been confirmed from a recent visit to his doctor.

According to BEST news, the diagnosis came a couple of weeks ago from what appeared to be a routine eye test with his doctor. Tests later revealed that the problems Beck was experiencing with his eyes not focusing, was down to the relatively rare genetic disorder Mucular Dystrophy. Beck has been pre-warned that he may go blind within the next year due to this. The news has been upsetting and emotionally draining for Beck, as the prospect of not being able to see his wife and children is becoming more apparent.

Beck has become a household name in America, due to his radio show `The Glenn Beck Program’, a self-titled cable news show on the Fox News Channel as well as the author of 6 New York Times bestselling books.

This is comment for Glenn Beck. Glenn do not be discouraged – I have had 3-4 surgeries on left eye and 3-4 on right eye. Just find an excellent eye doctor and put trust in him. Mine here in Lincoln is Dr. Sutton – and I would recommend him to anyone.Elizabeth

I love the Glenn Beck program. He is bringing us truth that no other news outlet has the courage to tell. I will be praying faithfully for him.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I heard the information on the Glenn Beck program on Monday, July 19th.
I really appreciate Glenn's attitude. God is always with us even until the end of the world. I will pray for him daily. God is in control. Who knows, Jesus might return at any time and this will no longer be a threat to Glenn's well being. If Jesus lingers, God is still in control and may his will be done. Glenn, the Bible says that God's grace is sufficient for what ever we might encounter in life.

A great deal of the American people are saddened by the new of Glenn's diagnosis of macular dystrophy. It is his is trusting attitude in the Lord that will see him throught. He is a beacon for the multitudes, and God will not let that cease. We love and pray for you Glenn.

The doctor's report is the negative report. God will decide if the eyes will deteriorate or not. Trust Him and believe in the power of all of our prayers for you! The doctor's don't know everything even though you have the diagnosis of Macular Dystrophy. Place your will into God's will. God can do the impossible!!!

Glenn Beck, the devil always goes on the attack when someone tells the truth, hoping that they will just stop. Don't ever stop telling people the truth no matter what because God is so totally in control. The devil will only attack for a season, when he sees it won't work he will stop. I'm praying for you and your family. Don't ever give up on your faith, it will bring you through this no matter what. Jesus loves you. Christy

Exactly what pig-god do you worship Mr.Humpy Wingo? I am left breathless by your horrible words. I will pray for your disturbed mind and soul, and hope that when you yourself are "struck down", as you will surely be, you will remember the terrible and cruel way you have rejoiced in another man's suffering, and receive better from others than you have given.

  11. Comments  Jerry Coleman   |  Tuesday, 20 July 2010 at 9:46 am

Please see my response to Mr. Humpy Wingo, above, and multiply it times ten for yourself. This goes beyond politics, you sad, vile little insect. But it really does not surprise me coming from you detestable leftists. When you begin to drown the swamp of hate you live in, and are screaming a life raft, people like Glenn Beck would still throw you one.

Draw strength from the many thousands of our wounded warriors who are also coping with injuries and illnesses beyond their control. Draw near to them and allow their inner strength and determination help you find the will to overcome anything life throws your way. Our prayers are with you and your family.

You are a hateful and despicable human being. I too will pray for your salvation. However, at this moment I am so stricken by your callousness that I cannot be as kind as Mr. Coleman because I hope that should you ever be "stricken", that you reap what you have sown.

I would like to join Patricia, Mara, Sarah, Michael, Christy, stevem, and all the other millions of Americans in prayer for Glenn Beck. He is indeed a beacon of hope for us all and I pray that God will smile on his work here and always provide him with what he needs to continue it, and to lead a full, happy and healthy life with his loving family (and I am including all of us as family) at his side.

  18. Comments  Bill   |  Tuesday, 20 July 2010 at 3:16 pm

I wish no ill will towards the Beckster, but Phil… Glenn Beck doesn't do news. You don't hear what he "preaches" anywhere else simply because it's nonsense. Not to mention homophobic, racist, and mostly paranoid delusions of self importance. Oh, and he does all this purely for money. Yours.

  19. Comments  Glenn Beck Review   |  Tuesday, 20 July 2010 at 3:58 pm

Beck's supporters here need to take the best advice that Beck has given his viewers EVER: start fact checking Glenn Beck. this disease usually involves sensitivity to light, not Beck's stated symptom, and rarely leads to blindness. Christy, Beck has not started telling people the truth yet. Go to The Glenn Beck Review and read the long list of false claims he made JUST LAST WEEK!

If people really fact check Glenn Beck like I have been for the last three weeks, his ratings will plunge like a lead turd in the cesspool that is Fox "News."

  20. Comments  Cynthia Whitaker   |  Tuesday, 20 July 2010 at 5:36 pm

I am devastated that this great man has to go through this.
You are my hero Glenn. You have taught me so much US history and you have made me believe that through God I can do so much more than I was doing. I feel uplifted when I watch your program. I believe everything happens for a reason, when you speak the truth Saten attacks, but God is stronger and He will prevail. I am praying for your healing.

Don't wish blindness on anyone – even a poisonous hate monger like Beck.

  24. Comments  Jacquis   |  Tuesday, 20 July 2010 at 7:07 pm

This type of language stings my heart and it is unbearable. That is the total rejection of our kingdom God who sent Jesus his precious son to die on the cross literally for everyone because of "SIN". He Himself is the only way no other Gods but HIM. God has plan for all of us but we all do is to keep faithful in HIM in any circumstance. I hope that you will sleep on it about what you just said and come to your realization.

  25. Comments  Jacquis   |  Tuesday, 20 July 2010 at 7:12 pm

Check your heart before you speak your tongue. What is your purpose in this life? To mock or curse others? I guess "Love" isn't that important to you? That means you can smash your love ones like an ant …..

I am seeing that you are in the dark world without a light. It is time for you to seek for light in your life rather than speaking in a horrible language. Go and clean yourself up and recite what you had just commented in a proper manner.

  26. Comments  Susan   |  Tuesday, 20 July 2010 at 7:35 pm

Glenn, stay strong in the Lord. He is our shield. This is a difficult time, but remember that Jesus is with you all the way. You have not been abandoned by Him. You have touched so many lives with your truth, honesty and humor and so many of us are praying for you. Remember, when you feel you have nothing left, Jesus is all you need.

  27. Comments  Mark   |  Tuesday, 20 July 2010 at 7:38 pm

How can anyone believe any word from this miscreant's mouth? He has been shown to be a bold faced liar and manipulator. (The king of Crocodile tears!) And… he has, as yet, not shown any guilt, or a desire to repent. It truly boggles the mind how so many can be fooled by his bad acting, and misinformation. If (and that's a big if…) he actually has this problem then I hope he can be healed. As it is a relatively treatable disorder (If one can afford it) and he has plenty of money he should come out ok. As always with Mr. Beck though, I have a hard time swallowing any of what comes out of his mouth.

I'm a progressive liberal, and definitely not a fan of Mr. Beck's. I think he's an ignorant money-hungry panderer. But as a fellow human being I hope he doesn't lose his sight. It's not an insurmountable loss, but I wouldn't wish it on anyone who's spent his life with complete vision. If he does lose his sight, there are resources that can help him continue to lead a full and productive life. The National Federation for the Blind would benefit immensely if Mr. Beck learned Braille and made a public point of it. The literacy rate among blind American children is shockingly low and should be unacceptable to a civilized society.

Can't believe the evil comments hitting Glenn when he's facing the cross he's been given. Glenn, you are in my and my family's prayers. With God's grace and the prayers of so many who respect you, we'll help you carry that cross. Never give up, never give in. God bless you and your family.

What is there about "a significant reduction in vision", "vision may be significantly reduced", "Generally, over time, vision decreases", "loss of vision" and "visual loss" that you don't get?

Maybe, more accurately, what is there about those worlds that you think others won't understand?
    http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1193871-ove...

The left's need to deceive people is absolutely pathetic.

  35. Comments  Cowboy   |  Tuesday, 20 July 2010 at 11:37 pm

All just another false assessment of Beck's material.

There is desperate need to divert from the fact that Beck's material is primarily reporting of what 'progressives' themselves have said and written in their own words.

I listen to Glenn Beck and am glad someone is out there giving us the truth about the way our elected officials are turning this great country into a place where the government controls everything. Sounds like communism to me.

Glenn Beck backs up everything he says on his program and has evidence. He never puts anything on that could be considered slander of libel.Fox could be sued for that. So everything he has on his show is researched and then some.
As for his lying about macular dystrophy.Absolutely true. The dr that diagnosed Beck went on the record with the diagnosis. So you are just making an assumption based on nothing.

  39. Comments  Christian   |  Wednesday, 21 July 2010 at 2:27 am

Don't worry Beckies, Glenn will be miraculously 'cured' by Jeebus, and you can send him even more of your money in gratitude.
BTW Jerry I hope you're not wishing that Humpy Wingo be 'struck down' as that would make you an evil thinker and you know the old man upstairs knows everything you think and will punish you accordingly…..

I am only 26 and I was diagnosed with Macular Dystrophy as well at only 20 yrs of age. I am a finance major and this disease is making it very difficult for me to finish college. I am a senior with 5 classes left, the first to attend a 4yr University in my family. I m sure I could have been done with school if it was not for this disease.
