Texas Mayor: Jayne Peters and Daughter Shot Dead

Mayor of Texas Jayne Peters, 55, and her daughter, 19, have been shot dead at their home on Tuesday night. Police are investigating their deaths as a possible murder-suicide. Police were alerted when council members became worried that Peters had not turned up to a meeting. Mother and daughter were subsequently found with gunshot wounds to the head.
According to Aliyah Shahid at NYDailyNews.com, police could find no signs of forced entry. This news has devastated family members as in 2008, Peters husband died of cancer.
