NCAA Hockey Tournament 2010: Top seeded teams and Bracket

The top seeds for the NCAA Hockey Tournament 2010 have been selected today. The teams are Miami-Ohio, Denver, Wisconsin and Boston College, with Miami-Ohio being top for the Midwest Region, playing Saturday 27th March against Alabama-Huntsville in Indiana. The other Midwest game will also be on Saturday between Bemidji State and Michigan.
In the East, Denver is ranked No. 1 and plays their first match on Friday March 26th against RIT in Albany, New York. The other East game is also on Friday between Cornell and New Hampshire. Meanwhile over in the West Region we’ll see top seed Wisconsin play Vermont on Friday in St. Paul, Minnesota, while St. Cloud State and Northern Michigan will be opponents in the other West game.
Finally the top seed in the Northeast Region is Boston College who will battle against Alaska-Fairbanks in their opener in Worcester, Massachusetts. In the other Northeast game we’ll see the meeting of North Dakota and Yale. The regional championship games will be played with the winners from the opening games. The winners of those matches will play in the Frozen Four on April 8 at Ford Field in Detroit.

I am not sure how the 7th seed in hockey east can make the NCAA while all of the teams above (i.e., Maine and BU) do not. What a joke,
