March Madness: NCAA Bracket Update – Final Scores

We’re taking a look at the latest bracket updates for the NCAA Basketball Tournament 2010 and it was looking good for the No. 8 ranked California Bears who beat the No. 9, Louisville Cardinals. By halftime California was in front by 41-30. Louisville came back more strongly in the second half of the game but it was all too late to make the difference they needed.

It was a courageous shot by the Cardinals to try to get back into the game but it was simply not to be and California took the game, with Jerome Randle, Theo Robertson and Patrick Christopher their leading scorers, with the final result being 77-62. The bracket update shows that California will now play No. 1 Duke, in their next game. Arkansas Pine-Bluff were defeated by the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile over at the game with the Maryland Terrapins against the Houston Cougars, it was the Terrapins who will move on to the second round. The No. 4 ranked Maryland Terrapins’ leading scorers were Jordan Williams (21 points, 17 rebounds) and Landon Milbourne (19 points). Maryland will now go to the second round of the tournament to play No. 5 Michigan State who already beat New Mexico, No. 12.

Taking a look at some of the final scores then we see California beat Louisville 77-62, and the final result for Maryland against Houston was 89-77. Syracuse defeated Vermont 79-56, while Ohio St beat UC Santa Barbara 68-51.

Other results include West Virginia beating Morgan St. 77-50, Xavier defeating Minnesota 65-54, Cornell vs. Temple ended up 78-65 whilst Purdue defeated Siena 72-64. For more of these final scores take a look at gather.com where you can also see the game reports.
