Microsoft’s Verizon Phone: Will Apple release the iPhone?

Microsoft’s Verizon Phone: Will Apple release the iPhone?

It appears as though Microsoft are about to launch 2 new phones with the biggest wireless carrier in the U.S., Verizon. The company’s venture into the mobile phone market comes whilst people have been wondering why Apple has not yet offered their iPhone to Verizon.

Last month Microsoft pioneered its Windows Phone 7. The new phones are targeted at the teenage market with easy use of social networking sites a prime intention and it could be that the phones will be branded as Microsoft and Verizon Wireless. Whether or not they will remain exclusive to Verizon is yet to be seen.

The introduction of Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android, has had a negative effect recently on Microsoft’s fortunes. The iPhone and Android have both gained in their shares of the worldwide smartphone software market, while Microsoft’s share of the market fell in the fourth quarter of 2009 to 7.9%.

The initiative from Microsoft and Verizon has been nicknamed “Project Pink” and Apple may just be starting to regret they did not already let Verizon have their iPhone. Neither Microsoft nor Verizon have yet commented on the plans.

For more on this story go to the Epoch Times. It seems a distinct possibility that customers waiting for the iPhone to be offered to Verizon may just give up waiting and decide to give the new Microsoft Verizon phone a try instead. Let us know your thoughts on this issue.

If Iphone does not come to Verizon this summer I am jumping ship for AT&T. There service is not as good, but it is good enough and I am sick of waiting. Work things out with Apple and get the Iphone….NOW

I had a WinMo6 Samsung Omnia, with VZ, and it was a piece of junk. In June I will buy a 4th gen. iPhone with AT&T, then all you WinPhone7 buyers can use them for paperweights. I am sick of waiting for VZ to get the iPhone. They are too greedy.

I think the iPhone is old news. I don’t really care about it coming to Verizon or not. I don’t want to FINALLY get the iPhone after it’s been out for a few years. What’s so cool about that? Apple is being stupid by sticking to AT&T anyway. Now the Droid is gaining market share (is that good for Apple?), the Palm will gain market share (is that good for Apple?), the Microsoft phone will gain market share (is that good for Apple??????), LG is all over the place, and I just want a phone that’s “fresh”, a phone that others haven’t carried around for years…

I’m in a bit of pickle, I have had my iphone 3G for the last 2 years and it’s been pretty good. It is my understanding that Apple has a new update coming out called OS 4 and it’s supposed to be adding some new bells & whistles to the iphone. The problem is that I bought Verizon’s new HTC Incredible the HTC Incredible and it’s a great phone, far superior to the Apple iphone, BUT I’m hearing that Apple is supposed to be coming out with a completely iphone altogether, and it’s supposed to be really nice but no one has any ideas as to when and Apple isn’t saying a thing. Should I keep my HTC Incredible, that I have a month to test and give back if I don’t want to keep it, or should I give it back, keep my current 3G and wait for the release of the new iPhone- tough to decide what to do.
