‘Computer Addict’ Parents Let Real Life Child Die Due To Starvation
Parents that were addicted to an online computer game let their three-month-old baby starve to death while spending up to 12 hours a day raising another child… a virtual one, police said today.
Police have reported that the couple would leave their daughter at home in Suwon, South Korea, while they spent all day at internet cafe’s raising an Avatar baby through their favorite real-life style online game. It is thought that the real daughter of the parents only received one bottle of milk per day, and was found dead when they returned home from one of their online stints.
Kim Yoo-chul, who is 41 and mum Choi Mi-sun, 25 called the emergency services but told police that they found her in the dead state when they woke up in the morning.
The National Scientific Criminal and Investigation Laboratory conducted an autopsy on the girl, and revealed that the tot had appeared to have “starved to death because she was not fed for such a long period of time.”
According to The Sun, the three-month-old died last September, and after the funeral of their daughter, the shamed parents disappeared and went into hiding. But it did not last long after police caught up with them this Tuesday and have been charged with child abuse and neglect.
