Vancouver 2010: Sven Kramer Apology

Sven Kramer, the Dutch speedskater, has attempted to move on from his shocking disqualification from the 10,000 meter long-track race at Vancouver 2010.He had been hot favourite to take victory in the event but ended up in a tirade against his coach after being ill-advised.
In the arduous 25 lap race, Gerard Kemkers, his coach gave him some unwise advice about a lane change in the 17th lap. Kramer finished the race and appeared to have won it straightforwardly, but after the event officials disallowed the result.
Kramer had already won a gold medal in this Winter Olympics at the 5,000 meter event. He was highly tipped to triumph in the 10,000 meter as well, as he is the world’s leading long-distance speedskater.
According to USA Today, after having some time to think about his reaction to events Kramer said, “It is not going to help anyone if I tear the whole place down”. I wonder if you feel his initial reaction to his disqualification was justified bearing in mind the dedication it takes to become an Olympic athlete? How might you have reacted yourself?
