Ron Paul For 2012 President: Would you want him?

Ron Paul For 2012 President: Would you want him?

It seems the Conservatives want Ron Paul, the Texan congressman, as their next president. In a straw poll yesterday at the Conservative Political Action Conference it appears that 31 per cent of the voters placed their faith in the former presidential candidate.

This was one of the most decisive victories ever in the history of the CPAC. According to NYDailyNews.com, Sarah Palin, who didn’t attend the conference, had only 7 per cent of the vote, coming in at third place.

Mitt Romney, who had topped the CPAC poll for the previous 3 years, was in second place with 22 per cent of the votes. There were 2,400 votes in total. Ron Paul had stood for President in 2008 but missed out on the GOP’s nomination by a long way. Jesse Benton, Paul’s spokesman said that he was committed to “bringing the conservative movement back to its traditional platform”.

Maybe it’s the fact that Paul has focused this year on the need for government to cut back on spending, which has swayed the poll in his favour. So…going back to our headline, Ron Paul for 2012 President. Would you want him?

    Would I ever want him!

I can't tell you how many people I know who 'would have' voted for him in 2008 but were sure he couldn't win — then regretted not voting for him after the bailouts.

People want an actual record of walking the walk, and no one has a record like Ron Paul has.

Since he was in the last 3 CPAC polls, and both his share of the vote and the numbers of the voters at CPAC has increased so much, it is clear many people have discovered him only since the 2008 elections.

Ron Paul is the only person who is capable of restoring our country. A recent poll stated that 86% of Americans believe our government is broken, Ron Paul is capable of fixing our broken system of government. Paul is the only one with specific ideas of how solve the causes. His ideas of doing away with the Federal Reserve and the IRS are two ideas whose time has come. Mr. Paul will see to it that America is of, by and for the people, once and for all.

The Federal Reserve is stealing the purchasing power of our money and Ron Paul is the only one who advocates abolishing it. So yes, I would vote for him and I was a Democrat until I discovered Congressman Paul. END THE FED!

YESSSSSSS I want Ron Paul as President. I am a Frederick Douglas/ Ron Paul republican. He is a beacon of hope in a very depressive time in American history. "find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them"-Frederick Douglas

Yes, absolutely. If he was President ten years ago, we would not have had the misleading wrong-headed Iraq war, nor the housing bubble-and-burst; we would be experiencing a thriving recession-less economy, establishing peaceful international trade, and a market that responds more to the demands of the people rather than the demands of a President/Congress. I find him to be the lone voice of reason in Congress, someone who stands for principle rather than lobbyists and corruption.

Dr. Paul is the only man who has the proven record and dedication to principle to bring the United States back from the brink of fiscal insolvency. I definitely support him!

I would love him to be our next president. But is America ready for a straight-talking, non-corrupt politician?

  11. Comments  Rolland   |  Sunday, 21 February 2010 at 11:57 pm

Absolutely! Without a doubt, the most honest and courageous politician in Washington today. Not to mention one of the very few that understand foreign policy and the economy and has always upheld his oath to protect the constitution. There are none more qualified.

I would very much like Ron Paul to become President. He's a true statesman and patriot, and has been extremely consistent over the years with his message of limited constitutional government. He isn't just pandering to the Tea Party movement and the discontented voters…He was instrumental in getting that movement started with the same message he always conveyed. What changed was the attitude of the voters, and people actually started listening to what he had been saying.

I can only hope we'll be so lucky to see this man as President.

I would love to have Ron Paul as President. He is very wise, understands history, never moves from his principles, speaks the truth, and doesn't even remotely look like those on the hill right now. Ron Paul is real, wise change.

Yes, I do want him. I want men and women of honor to serve the people of this country instead of the special interests. Ron Paul is one of the very few in DC that is not corrupted.

I'm generally considered a liberal. I voted for Obama. Fox news and the Bush administration disgust me. I think the republican party relies almost entirely on fear and lies and fits the dictionary definition of terrorism, and attracts ignorant people because of it. These are my views and I still think Ron Paul is exactly what we need for our country. You see I'm not a liberal because I believe in big government, it's because I believe in human rights, civil rights and liberties, protecting the environment, and diplomacy instead of war. And I'm a liberal because I got into politics due to how bad of a job Bush did, and when I paid attention to both sides, the democrats attempted to appeal to intellectuals instead of easily influenced people. But Ron Paul is not the typical republican, or politician in general. He is legitimately fighting for the American people, using intelligence, common sense, and whistle blowing. There is nothing Ron Paul says that doesn't make sense. Screw the FED screw the UN and screw elitism and fixed elections! RON PAUL 2012!

As much as I love Romney's business savvy and good governance, I have disagree that he is "more electable." Until A LOT of Americans get over their fear of whatever scares them about Mormonism, Romney's not going to make it out of Utah in politics.

If you go back and watch Ron Paul in interviews over the last 20 years this guy has stayed as straight as an arrow on the issues. Never deviating or changing course for any reason. The man reeks of integrity. Thats what we need in office. I am so sick and tired of this Hollywood DC we've had for decades. Time for a real professional who shoots it straight to the people and doesn't worry about being kicked out of the "cool group". Ron Paul MUST be president. We (USA) need it more than most realize.

    Ron Paul 2012!!!
