A Motorola advert screened in Sunday’s Super Bowl, has got tongues wagging across America. In the advert, actress Megan Fox, lies seductively in a bubble bath, while wondering what would happen if she issued a picture of herself to the internet. Then it cuts to a scene of pre-occupied men all over the country having accidents and being castigated by their wives for viewing the photo.

Whilst you might think most viewers would be looking at the gorgeous Megan, seductive in the tub, apparently it seems many people have been looking at her hands instead. Although Megan obviously does not have a problem revealing her body, on closer inspection it appears that in a close up of her hand holding the phone, a different person’s hand has been used.

The ad was seen by around 90 million viewers in its popular Super Bowl slot and would have cost Motorola $2 to $3 million. It appears that Motorola hired a hand model as Megan Fox suffers a genetic condition called brachydactyly which causes her thumbs to have a clubbed appearance.

I can’t help feeling it’s a reflection on today’s times when a very slight cosmetic defect leads to such measures. After all, it certainly hasn’t stopped Megan Fox becoming a great actress and a huge star. It would be interesting to know what you think.
