Techcrunch Hacked: Lucky not during Apple Tablet announcement
The high-profile tech blog website TechCrunch, which profiles Silicon Valley start-ups and US technology companies, was offline for nearly four hours recently after the site was reportedly hit by hackers.
According to a recent report at news.bbc.co.uk, a message on the website, said that it had been “compromised by a security exploit.” There were no other details given about the hacking attack, other than the message.
Graham Cluley, who works for security firm Sophos, said that obviously there’s no such thing as a good time to be hacked, but went on to say that it had to have been a better day today for TechCrunch to be hacked.
And the reason for this is that TechCrunch will no doubt be expecting large amounts of traffic tomorrow (Wednesday), as that is when Apple is expected to announce the new Tablet, which the website will follow closely.
