Obama’s ‘first tweet’ on Red Cross Twitter Page: Help Haiti
The President of the United States Barack Obama, appears to have taken to Twitter recently and posted his first ever tweet. But according to nationalledger.com, it was for a very good cause – the Red Cross Haiti relief Twitter page.
Both President Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama, visited the Red Cross Disaster Operations Center in Washington, D.C. on Monday afternoon, where Obama engaged in a little social networking asking people to help Haiti.
A post that came from the relief organization on Monday, noted that President Obama had pushed the button on the last tweet, going on to say that it was in fact his first ever tweet. It is hoped that it will draw attention for people to donate.
And it appears there was some great news on the website as well, with a donation update saying that over $21 million in $10 donations has actually been raised for the people of Haiti. This is all through Red Cross’s text HAITI to 90999.
