NASA have recently announced that it has launched an investigation, after a small amount of cocaine was found in a restricted area of a processing hangar for the space shuttle Discovery, at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
According to a report at cnn.com, Bob Cabana, who is the director of the Kennedy Space Center, issued a statement in which he said that it is a rare and isolated incident, and that he was disappointed that it had happened.
Reports say that NASA has now drug-tested all employees, who worked in the restricted area. According to NASA’s statement, there were about 200 NASA and contractor personnel working in the area at the time the drug was found.
The cocaine was said to have been found in a small bag, on the floor near a bathroom in the restricted area. NASA are now said to be using its own security and law enforcement officials, to carry out the investigation into the incident.
