There has just been news recently of another recall, only this time it’s on baby food. According to a report at coloradoconnection.com, a New York-based company Nuture, Inc., is carrying out a voluntary recall of selected varieties of baby food meals.
This is apparently due to defective packaging, which causes the pouches to swell or leak and may well result in bacterial contamination. The recalled products in Colorado include the HAPPYTOT Stage 4 food meals, which come in 4.22 oz. pouches with plastic caps.
The recalled products are said to be the pouches with expiration dates between November 2010 and January 2011. Although there have been no reports of illnesses so far, consumers are still being advised not to use it and return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
All the flavors and UPC codes of the recalled products can be found here. Additional products that have been recalled but not distributed in Colorado include the HAPPYBABY Stage 1 and Stage 2 pouch meals, with the same expirations dates as above.
