As the heavy snow continues to fall on the UK, it appears to be causing more and more disruption and chaos. Armed Forces were even called out recently, to help stranded motorists who had been stuck overnight in a 10-mile jam on the A3(M) in Hampshire.
According to a recent report at telegraph.co.uk, military and fire service personnel were called in, to help the police reach motorists who had been caught in the blockages on the A3(M) and the A3, which runs from London to Portsmouth.
Many of the motorists that were stuck were evacuated to rescue centers, while others just slept in their vehicles overnight. It has been reported that military personnel from Southwick Park, Thorney Island and Aldershot barracks, were involved in the operation.
Among the people trapped, were 23-year old Carla Holt, her 13-month old daughter Lily-May and Carla’s friend Ricky Wells. They were stranded at Petersfield for 12 hours, when their car got stuck in the snow. Carla said that they went through hell.
