Second Flight 253 Bomb Scare: Food Poisoning to Blame

Second Flight 253 Bomb Scare: Food Poisoning to Blame

There was a second possible bomb scare on board a Northwest Airlines flight 253 on Sunday, which is only two days after a Nigerian man was arrested and charged for attempting to blow up the plane on Friday, 25th December.

But according to abcnews.go.com, the second scare was the result of a passenger who refused to come out of the bathroom, which was due to him having food poisoning. The man had been in the bathroom for over an hour.

As flight 253 landed in Detroit just after 12:30 local time, FBI agents and local police swarmed the plane. Authorities say that he was a Nigerian petroleum engineer, who became unhappy when he was ordered to his seat.

Authorities then took all passengers and baggage off of the Northwest Airlines flight 253. They then interviewed the Nigerian man and shortly after they determined he was in fact ill, officials gave an “all clear” message.
