Hundreds of protesters were arrested outside the Bella Centre in Copenhagen yesterday, while delegates were inside continuing with their crucial talks on climate change. The arrests came after violent clashes with police.
According to reports from telegraph.co.uk, police, who were all dressed in riot gear, were believed to have fired tear gas and used pepper spray, to disperse more than 1,000 activists that were attempting to get into the Bella Centre.
At the same time as that was going on, indigenous people’s groups and non-governmental organizations were carrying out a colorful protest of their own inside the conference, which brought the conference to a standstill.
