H1N1 Vaccine Distribution Picking up Speed

H1N1 Vaccine Distribution Picking up Speed

According to Elizabeth Emmett who is the spokeswomen for the Napa County Department of Public Health officials, they have around 2,700 H1N1 vaccine doses for vaccination clinics in Napa, Calistoga and Angwin.

Local health officials have said that more of the swine flu vaccine is making its way into Napa County, but only one-third of what is expected will arrive. It’s said that the delay in distributing the vaccine is due to the slow growth of the virus in the manufacturing process.

The H1N1 vaccine will be given to priority groups which include infant caregivers, health care workers, young people aged 6 months to 24 years, pregnant women and adults younger than 65 with certain health conditions.
