The 57th annual Quincy Christmas Parade takes place today. The parade, which according to patriotledger.com is featuring 90 groups of participants, is due to begin at 12.30 pm, at the corner of Elm Street. It will then finish at the North Quincy High School.
This year’s parade is said to include nine floats and 20 antique cars. As a tradition, the parade will start with an array of police motorcycles, as well as color guards from several different towns. It will also be trailed by Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
And featured for the very first time this year, will be National Guard members, who are from Company G, 186th Support Battalion. The parade organizers were said to have included the group this year, because they are being sent to Afghanistan in January.
