New Sleigh for Santa at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2009

It appears that the 83rd Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which is due to take place in New York City today, is getting a bit of a makeover for this year. When it officially kicks of the holiday season today, it will have a new route, new balloons and a new Santa sleigh.

According to huliq.com, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade starts at 9 am, at 77th Street and Central Park West, in the festive New York City. Several gigantic new balloons are featuring this year, including Sailor Mickey, Spider-Man and Ronald McDonald.

And the sidewalks will be packed with people, not only wanting to see the new balloons but also to see Santa’s new sleigh. This is apparently the first time in over 40 years, that Santa has actually had a new sleigh and the new one is said to measure 60-feet long and 22-feet wide.
