Maclaren Stroller Recall: Products since 1999 affected

Concerns that kids could get their fingertips cut off in the carriage hinge’s has prompted the company Maclaren to recall about 1 million umbrella stroller’s sold in the US since 1999. The decision to recall comes as reports suggest 12 children had their fingertips amputated by the strollers.
A source familiar with the recall told the newspaper “parents should stop using these strollers right away”. According to newspaper reports, Maclaren is planning to provide a free kit to cover the stroller’s hinge mechanism.
The stroller’s that are affected include the Volo, Triumph, Twin Triumph, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Quest Sport, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller. Maclaren released this statement to the press “Safety is our first priority and through this voluntary effort we urge consumers to contact us immediately to obtain the kit which consists of hinge covers designed specifically to fit all Maclaren strollers.”
