Following on from the news about Tropical Storm Ida and how it was battering Nicaraguan island, we now have an update on it’s projected path of destruction. This is more recent information than when we reported the predicted path back on November 5th.
Now named Hurricane Ida, the storm has increased to a category 2 hurricane and is moving across the gulf of Mexico where a hurricane watch has been extended into Florida. Ida also hit Cancun on Sunday bringing with it heavy winds and rain.
The Category 2 hurricane has reached speeds of up to 100mph in the state of Florida and is expected to reach the golf coast of Mexico by today or tomorrow. Mock disasters are being run in Utah by several agencies to help citizens prepare, read more about this on AP.
