Tropical Storm Ida: Predicted Path of Hurricane

Tropical Storm Ida: Predicted Path of Hurricane

We are well into the hurricane season and the ninth one has formed, Tropical Storm Ida is located in the southern Caribbean, which is just south of Nicaragua. The hurricane is producing a lot of rain and thunderstorms, winds are reaching speeds of 57mph.

According to Herald Tribune, the predicted path of Tropical Storm Ida is that it will cross Nicaragua and Honduras. The storm is then expected to lose its strength as it crosses land and then will gain strength again once it passes back over the Caribbean.

It is also predicted that Ida could peter out over land, but these things are often hard to predict. The National Hurricane Center thinks that Ida will hit the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula by Monday. They say that current weather conditions make it look more possible for the storm to continue.

They have run simulations of the storm and it shows that Ida will hit the Gulf of Mexico, but looks as though it would miss Florida. Only time will tell how true these predictions are.
