CDC: Vaccine shortages for Swine Flu, rise in deaths

The CDC has been taking a very close look at the shortages of the vaccine for Swine Flu; they estimated that more than 40 million doses of the H1N1 vaccine would have been shipped by mid-October 2009. When the Center for Disease Control added this number up, only 22.4 million doses were actually shipped.
As you could imagine people have already started to panic about this, more so from parents who are worried about the wellbeing of their children. According to The National Ledger, doctors have been trying to advise parents not to worry, but they just wonder why they cannot get hold of the vaccine if their child is showing all the symptoms of H1N1 flu.
Deaths in Swine Flu have been increasing steadily; sadly one of the biggest increases is from children. Dig Triad are reporting that 114 children have already fallen victim and died from Swine Flu since the spring, that figure was just 95 a week ago.
The news that just over half of the intended number of H1N1 Vaccine treatments was shipped will not do anything to help ease the worry of parents or other people at risk from Swine Flu; this is also another reason why Barack Obama declared a national emergency last week.
