Today we have had some breaking news that there was an earthquake in New Jersey (NJ), Greater New York City and it was at a depth of 5KM (3.1 miles).
Exact location was 40.870°N, 74.522°W. The time was Monday, February 02, 2009 at 10:34:19 PM at epicenter / Tuesday, February 03, 2009 at 03:34:19 UTC.
The preliminary reports indicate that this latest NJ earthquake was a 3.0 magnitude and struck Morris Plains and Dover. Most of the time earthquakes in New Jersey are not felt.

- 54 km (34 miles) WNW (290°) from New York, NY
- 31 km (19 miles) W (261°) from Paterson, NJ
- 4 km (2 miles) ESE (121°) from Dover, NJ
- 3 km (2 miles) SSW (192°) from Rockaway, NJ
- 2 km (1 miles) ESE (109°) from Victory Gardens, NJ
