According to reports Sony have reported a 72% drop in their profit this quarter and its said that the poor results were in fact expected after the Tokyo-based electronics and entertainment conglomerate cut its annual profit for the fiscal year by 58 percent.

It’s said that not only Sony have been affected. Many of Japan’s best-known brand names including Toyota and Panasonic have seen their market value drop.

Sony has said that they have sold 2.43 million units of its PlayStation 3 game machine in the quarter which is up 86 percent from the same quarter last year.
