There was a fitting finale at Brands Hatch for Clydesdale Bank, which brought the chequered flag down on the third year of its sponsorship deal with British Touring Car Championship outfit Team Halfords.

In the final round of the 2008 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship at the Brands Hatch circuit in Kent, driver Tom Chilton dominated the race to take first place for Team Halfords.

Chilton’s Honda Civic was first home ahead of Motorbase BMW driver Steven Kane and Vauxhall’s Tom Onslow-Cole and cemented 10th place in the overall championship for the 23-year-old driver.

Adrian Wenn, Clydesdale Bank’s Regional Director (Southern), said: “Over the past three years, we have thoroughly, enjoyed supporting the British Touring Car Championships. The partnership has helped us raise our profile nationally and particularly in the south and in turn we have been delighted to support such a vibrant and exciting branch of motorsport.

“It was fitting finale that Tom stormed to victory in the final race of this season and it was great that it took place at such a world-renowned racing venue as Brands Hatch.”
