Regulation Changes Imminent Warns Business Link

Kent businesses are being warned that they are running out of time to comply with a new wave of Government legislation.
The 1st of October is 2008’s second Common Commencement Date, a twice-yearly event when the Government introduces new regulations and makes amendments to existing ones.
To help Kent companies understand the new rules and how they might affect them, Business Link has a dedicated section on its website.
Coming into effect are legislation changes covering the following areas:
• The national minimum wage
• Occupational pension schemes
• Employers’ liability compulsory insurance
• Trade marks and trade mark applications
• Limited liability partnerships
• Doorstep selling
Companies wanting to be kept abreast of changing legislation can register at www.businesslink.gov.uk/southeast/regulationupdates to receive alerts about any new or changing regulations that directly affect their type of business.
Jennifer Bentley, Customer Services Manager at Business Link, said: “Clear guidance on regulations is one of the many benefits businesses get from using Business Link. We know that this is important information which users value, particularly this alert on new regulations.”
Information about how legislation may affect your business can also be accessed by calling Business Link on 0845 600 9006.
