Westwood Cross, East Kent’s leading shopping and leisure destination, is offering everyone the chance to cool off and chill out during three days of summer celebrations from Monday, August 11.
Shoppers will be able to avoid getting hot and bothered in the summer sunshine by taking a spin or two on the Westwood Cross Ice Rink. The rink, at the Westwood Cross Compass, outside Debenhams, will be open to skaters from 11.30am to 6.30pm on each of the three days.
And if the spills and thrills of the ice rink are not quite enough to keep everyone entertained, Miles the clown will be bringing smiles to the faces of shoppers of all ages.
After seeking out the latest fashions and bargains in the stores, visitors are invited to relax and enjoy a selection of live music performances at Westwood Cross The Music Space?.
The Music Space? is at the heart of Westwood Cross Leisure alongside the Vue cinema, G Casino, Mecca Bingo and the popular restaurants.
Three of the restaurants – Nando’s, Chiquito, and Frankie and Benny’s – will each be providing live musical entertainment reflecting their individual themes at The Music Space? over the three days.
And on the evening of Monday, August 11, the talented East Kent performer Paul (Messenger) One Love and Los Conscious will be presenting an entrancing mixture of Latin soul, acoustic and pop.
Paul, who plays keyboards and guitars, will be joined by his son, Jack, on percussion, Paul Dadds, a former member of City Cruisers, and Alan Hoare, who played with Groove Junction,
A former pupil at Chatham House School, Ramsgate, Paul comes from a musical family and his great grandfather and grandfather both played violin for silent movies. Paul started his musical career playing classical guitar before expanding his repertoire of instruments and music.
“It is all going to be great fun,” said Tracie Stevens, marketing manager at Westwood Cross.
“Music is in the air across Thanet as we all enjoy Folk Week and the many visitors it brings to our towns and it is the perfect time to launch The Music Space?.”
The Westwood Cross musical theme is continuing throughout August with talented local musicians and buskers currently competing to entertain shoppers in one of the prestigious performing slots now available.
