The Rubik’s Cube is a gadget that was massive in the early 1980s and has also been reinvented since; the little Cube has defeated many children over the decades.
Now the Rubik’s Cube and other toys are being handed to octopuses in the name of science and these Octopus are determined to solve the Rubik’s Cube.
It’s believed that octopuses use a preferred arm for touching objects and feeding, just like most of us have a preferred hand, scientists will study these Octopuses in a month-long observation project that will be held across Europe in Sea Life Centre attractions.
If you visit one of these marine life centres you may help by recording results, more than 25 octopuses will be tested and they will have different toys to play with and food to eat while being observed.
With visitors being asked to note down which tentacle was used to pick up objects and also which are closest to the objects, lets hope these visitors study the sea creatures correctly.
The aim of this study is to help “the overall wellbeing of octopuses”, they want the results to help reduce stress by giving them food or objects that are on their favorite side if they have one.
