Will NASA’s Phoenix Lander find life on Mars after finding water?

Going back a few years, if we said water was found on Mars then everyone would have gone crazy but looking around me today, everyone is still carm even after NASA’s Phoenix Lander has found water. Now the question is, will they find life on Mars? As its well known that life can exist where there is water.
What they need to do now is get a sample of this ice form back to earth so we can look at it in a much greater detail, if they manage to do this at some point then we may indeed find some sort of life on Mars. Another problem would also be the atmosphere as our Earth has the perfect setting for life, but on Mars things are very different.
Could it really be possible for life to be on Mars even in water and ice?
Many scientists around the world have said for a long time that Mars has water and with the recent revelation that the chunks of bright materials found near the surface of the planet were not salt deposits but in fact water ice, this was confirmed by scientists after it disappeared in just days after being uncovered.
The chunks of ice were uncovered and came in contact with the Martian atmosphere, these then evaporated into a gas phase from solid phase. If the robotic arm on the Phoenix Mars Lander can find water in a solid form then we could get the answers we need about microbial life on Mars in the past or even present. The gadgets that are on the Phoenix Lander should be able to tell if Mars has ever had microbial life, this will take a detailed analysis of the current conditions as the arm digs through the surface.
Is it still wishful thinking that we could have life in our Solar System or will we find some sort of microbial life?
