Autistic Man Keith Kennedy who disappeared has been found

It has been reported that on Sunday night just hours before local authorities and family were to make a decision about whether to scale down a search for a 25-year-old autistic man Keith Kennedy who disappeared from a western Wisconsin camp more than a week ago, the family received fantastic news, he had been found.

According to reports two St. Paul firefighters Jim Cotroneo and Gary Ruiz, found Keith severely dehydrated and covered with sores and ticks, lying near a creek in a wooded area. Keith’s mum Linda said that “It was an unbelievable shock. I now believe in miracles. I really do.”

Gary said that because so much time had passed since Keith’s disappearance, they had been treating the operation as a recovery effort rather than a search-and-rescue undertaking. Gary said that “We were yelling for the other guys because [the woods were] so thick, Suddenly we came to a clearing and Jim said, ‘He’s right here.’ I said, ‘Who?’ and Jim said, ‘No, he’s right here, the one we’re looking for. He’s right here.”

It’s said that Keith is now in the intensive care unit at the University of Minnesota Medical Centre, Fairview were he is in a stable condition and improving.

It is good to hear a happy ending in situations like this because it is bad enough when a child goes missing let alone a child that has a vast number of speical needs. We all wish him a full recovery.
